This week, in conjunction with EBSQ's Pet Portrait Swap, Art Of The Day looks at the different amimals that populate our lives. This week, we focus on dogs.

Our dogs. Toys, treats, balls, brushing, bathing, feeding, walks. We do all of these things for them and all they really want is to be with us. Maybe that's why we do all we do for our dogs. They are companions, playmates, friends and without question, family.

This is a print of one of my favorite paintings. The combination of the blues and oranges which are so complimentary, and what is cuter than kids and dogs? This composition is from a photograph that I took at Dog Beach in Ocean Beach, California. I think the posture of the dog says it all!
