- by J A Blackwell

This week's theme: One Of These Things Is Not Like The Other

Actually, none of this week's Art of the Day selections are like the others. There's something different everyday.

Art: New York Times Square: Christmas Eve 1920's by Artist J A Blackwell
This is my Original Painting "Christmas Eve, Times Square New York City 1920's" I really wanted to capture what I believe what Times square in New York City would be like in the 1920's. This is a huge painting that spans 40 X 28 inches framed with a beautiful silver gold frame. There are so many details in this painting it would be hard to describe. There are hundreds of people, thousands of lights, many different nods to New york and Times Square. The huge movie posters that hang over the people are directly from the 1920s. "IT" starring Clara Bow, and "The Mask of Zorro" starring Douglas Fairbanks. Great looking shiny 1920s cars and New York City Train Cars. There are countless snow flakes and Lights...did I mention Lights? The amount of detail is staggering. All of this Holiday magic framed and Ready to hang. It measures 40 X 28 inches and looks amazing. There are also magic lighting effects that have to be seen to be believed. I will try and show them in the pictures but it does not do them justice. The wonderful 1920s people look like they are in movement, and fit perfectly within the setting. I wanted to be transported to New York in Times square in the 20's during the Christmas hustle and bustle, when I look at this painting I feel that.
