THE CIRCUS CLOWN

- by Claudia Roulier

This week's theme: OSWOA, (Original Small Works of Art)

I have great affinity for small works of art because I think they are very intimate and allow a viewer to stand close to each piece (or hold it in his hand), so he may study the skills and technique that made the art work fall together successfully.

OSWOA, (Original Small Works of Art), format is based on 4"x6"/6"x4" dimensions. These are strictly original pieces of art that need to fit in photo albums made for 4"x6" images. This format allows the artists to create smaller works of art that enable them to apply enough detail and pencil/brush stroke to showcase the caliber of their talents. OSWOA artists and collectors refer to these albums as OSWOA Galleries. This concept was designed for people who love original art but find themselves away from their homes too often or live a gypsy’s life and rarely get settled long enough to put up their treasured art collection on their walls. OSWOA collectors are also faithful art lovers with active social lives. They appreciate having their OSWOA Gallery within reach so friends may peruse their collections over tea, or any other social function. September 28, 2006, OSWOA was launched by a group of artists that has since multiplied in numbers and they continue to populate these highly collectible pieces of art all over US and overseas.

Here are seven outstanding OSWOA selections from a few EBSQ artists - enjoy!

Art: THE CIRCUS CLOWN by Artist Claudia Roulier
This piece is made from stamps, and collaged ephemera. This altered postcard is all about the circus in a kinda spooky way. Circus ephemera was used along with paint, stamps and old ephemera.

. As always everything is sealed and signed.

I'm so very lucky to be in Jan/Feb, Mar/Ap, May/June, and July/August issues of Somerset Studios, look me up.
