The second in my Canadian Folk Art series, this painting shows the children preparing for Christmas. Some of the children are off to practise for the Christmas pageant, some decorating and gathering trees, while others just cannot resist playing in the fresh fallen snow. I love the way the snow looks in this painting, you can almost reach out and feel it. It's a fun, joyful painting and very nostalgic of a time when being a child meant just being a child.
