Agriculture and the domestication of animals allowed mankind to stop wandering and settle in one place. This is what gave rise to societies, unique cultures and was the first step in the world we have created. And in spite of all the time that has passed since the first seed was planted, in spite of all that we have made and the many ways that we have changed - it is still the farm upon which it all rests and keeps it all going.
"The tall summer corn lies at the edge of a field where the cows have bedded down for a short while."
Artist comment: "I used gouache on Arches 140# hot-pressed watercolor paper for this peaceful scene. I put three scenes together to form this portrait of contented cows, about to rise and get into the corn."
