The Oxford American Dictionary, Copyright 1980 - seven times it was opened and closed and seven times a word from the top of the page was jotted down. A search of the EBSQ Galleries using these words turned up these seven pieces of art.

Art: At the Masquerade Ball by Artist Jasmine Ann Becket-Griffith
"At the Masquerade Ball" - it's getting to be that time of year.... Mardi Gras ... Carnival ... Masquerades! I've painted a beautiful big eyed maiden in an elaborate dress (in the traditional Purple, Green, and Gold of the New Orleans Mardi Gras!) - at a masquerade ball. Masked characters set the scene behind her - including a Plague Doctor sneaking in on the side. The colors in this are subtle, but the greens and violets (particularly her violet eyes!) really "pop" and bring it together. I LOVE this painting!!! This really is a stunning painting - it truly can be the focus of any room. It's extra pretty! 16"x20" original acrylic painting on masonite.
