Candlelight Rain

- by Karina Keri-Matuszak

This week's theme: Candles

In our modern world, using candles to illuminate our day to day lives is a rare occurrence. We have sources of bright, efficient light to see and work by. But still we seek a candle's glow for beauty, for ritual and to create that magical atmosphere an electric light simply cannot.

Art: Candlelight Rain by Artist Karina Keri-Matuszak
This is a piece which represents the contrast of fire and water. The lit candles through a rainy window are meant to show the heat of the flame coupled with the cool of the rain. I tried to show a conflict of two elements in this painting.
