Prospectus
According to Wikipedia (and a whole of lot bloggers we know) food porn is a "provocative term applied [...] to a spectacular visual presentation of cooking or eating in advertisements, infomercials, cooking shows or other visual media, foods boasting a high fat and calorie content, [or] exotic dishes that arouse a desire to eat." For our intents and purposes, we won't be focusing on the eating aspect, but the food itself. There's a beauty in food in all of its various incarnations. It consumes us even as we consume it. This show is a visual celebration of food. From a single vegetable to a table laden with a feast all food is a worthy subject for your camera to capture.
Foodporn: Photographing Food as Art is a media-specific show for photography featuring food. No other media will be accepted.
We strongly recommend all artists include a statement with each entry, as statements can enhance the experience for the online viewer. When possible, please include as much information of about the food in your photograph as well as some information about where and how you took the photograph. If the relevance of an entry to the show's theme is not readily apparent, we will request that the artist supply a short statement of explanation. We also encourage you to include detail shots of your entries. This will allow the viewer to full appreciate your work as small details can be lost in an online environment.
