In my own personal iconography, this piece is the physical appearance of December in a series of my Mythology of the Seasons. Within this series is not only illustration, but I also have written poetryprayers honoring each of these ideas. Each Season has three "sons" or "daughters," represented by their respective months. For example, Winter (male) has three Sons, December, January and February. Autumn is female with three daughters, September, October, November. Summer is male/three sons, June/July/August--Spring/female, three daughers, March/April/May, etc.. This piece is December, the first Son of Winter. He is walking alone in the Grove of the Seasons under the full Oak Moon.
