Materials/process: Taken with a digital Nikon Coolpix 4300, during a meditiative walk through the urban landscape of Honolulu.
What made you choose your subject: I walked by this truck all the time in urban Honolulu, near the Manoa campus of the University of Hawai'i. Even miles from the sea, the ocean's salt had accelerated and beautified the aging truck (I never saw it move, over a period of three years). It also served as a storage building for the owners, whose yard was almost archaeological in the vriety of artifacts such as this truck. Aesthetically, was attracted to the pattern of rust and paint, of the beauty in even aging and derelict machinery. The urban landscape is full of such elements in the process of becoming archaeological artifacts.
