I've been spending October making mostly pink pieces for Breast Cancer Awareness month in honor of my cousin Tonia, who is undergoing radiation and chemotherapy for metastatic breast cancer for what seems to be the umpteenth time... the cancer has metastasized to her bones and most people would NOT be able to remain as upbeat and positive as she has. She is my hero, my inspiration and it's my pleasure to support her courage and honor all breast cancer survivors and remember those who fought the good fight, like both my grandmothers, by thinking pink all year, not just one month out of it.
The beads in this piece are by glass artist K. Urato, they are spaced with 6mm natural quartz crystal rounds, finished with 6mm rose quartz beads, with a self-locking spiral closure to the bangle. There are a couple of 4mm clear quartz crystal beads thrown in for good measure. I love the leopard spot/pink beads in combination with the dichroic glass/rose bead for the wild + rose combo. I've made a LOT of pink pieces, but this is one of my favorites!
