This piece was specifically painted as an entry for the "ThinkPink" competition. My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1979. She died in 1984, at the age of 61, after the cancer spread throughout her body, and after she endured a long period of suffering. Medical science has come a long way since then and I hope and pray that a cure is just around the corner. I chose to paint Santa (in a pink suit) because my mother loved children and the excitement children had at that special time of year, Christmas ! Upon the sale of this painting, any and all proceeds will be donated, in memory of my mother, to the "search for the cure".
