This is a painting of the wonderful lillies that grow around my home. They are called Amaryllis Belladonna lillis, or more commonly called "naked Ladies". This is due to the fact that when they bloom this wonderful pink flower they do not have any leaves or greenery with them. The stems are tall and "naked" with this array of pink blooms. These flowers usually grow in clusters or rows because the bulbs will spread and keep spreading.
I decided to choose this in the Breast Cancer Cure exhibit, because I thought first of all they are naturally pink, and secondly if I twisted the stem to represent the ribbon, it would turn out nice w/ a subtle undertone of fighting for a cure.
