This self-portrait was a work in progress for a LONG time. The upside of that is that it looks younger now than the actual me. I started this painting back in 2007, and even declared it done, at the time. It really consisted of just some basic blocks of color. (See detail photo). As time passed, the painting began to look less and less complete. With the 2016 Self-Portrait Exhibit here at EBSQ fast approaching, I decided it was time to revisit this work, this time armed with a box of oil pastels. This is the result!
