I had a strong urge to draw myself after a several year break from any artistic endeavor (I had sort of thrown in the towel). All I could find was some loose charcoal so this self portrait was created primarily by spreading the charcoal around the paper with my fingers and a sponge. When I was done I startled myself with the result.
