
No matter who you were, or where you drove on Route 66, if you looked left and down this is what you would have probably seen; although the lines may have been white in sections, in the past. The vistas along America’s Road were many and varied but the road was always there allowing people to go where they needed to be. In the painting, one of the lines is dashed…broken, possibly to allow a car to pass another. Yet they are not evenly cropped, they are not neatly formed. It looks as though one end is reaching to the other as if to say "hold on, it's not time for us to let go of each other...it's not yet time for our passing."
