Art: Queen Almas' Gerbera by Artist Susie Barstow
This is my RIP of Alma Lees' 'Paisley Gerbera'. It was an easy decsion as far a pairing up with her for the EBSQ RIP contest, because the colors, the contrast, depth and her execution of her subject were totally something I was wishing I could create. Since I can't, the next best was to enter the RIP contest and give it my best shot. We use totally different media. We both like Gerberas and the colors in her Paisley Gerbera were so very rich so I chose that one. I used Winsor & Newton Transparent watercolors and Arches of France 300# watercolor paper. This image fits a standard 8x10 frame. Alma has been wonderful to work with. I am totally blown away of her RIP work of my 'Just A Little Higher - Scarlet Macaws'. I felt very honoured that she created a RIP of a piece of my art. Thank you Alma! Please email me if you have any questions. Susie
