I have a confession to make, this is my FIRST formal portrait I have painted...I've done a few sketches and do alot of paintings with people in every day life with the faces washed out, or small pieces with not much detail, but this is the first "real" portraiture painting I've done.. So needless to say I was a bit intimidated and yet excited to do this exchange!..I love to challenge myself and am always trying something different to expand my creativity. Lee is a beautiful woman and her personality although I do not know her personally seems to be such a great light!...I would love to meet you in person!..You truely are an inspiration! I started out with a wash of color to "sketch" on the main features. Layers and layers of oil are added to give her face the shape.
