This is the portrait I made of fellow artist Kimmy McLaughlin for the 5th EBSQ annual Portrait Swap Show.
A spirited 'fairy' version of a very charming picture of hers.
Of all the photos she sent to me, I chose this one because Kimmy has not only a very beautiful smile (and she always smiles in her pictures !!!) but also a very beautiful profile and I was captured by it, and wished to put it in evidence with a contrast between the skin tone and the background.
The palette I used is totally different from the original picture, and is in conformity to my style : even if I didn't plan to (originally I thought I was making a 'normal' portrait) this one also turned out with a supernatural /faerie athmosphere, as most of my other paintings.
I hope you like it !
