- Red Boat at Cape Cod
Every year, I set out on a trip with my three children and my fiance to Cape Cod for a weekend getaway. It is our way of bonding once a year. My two daughters are all grown up now and have moved away. My son still lives at home with me. We very much look forward to this trip. It means so much to us.
We enjoy the picturesque scenary of the lower cape. I have wanted to paint this scene for a long time.
There was something about the overcast day, near sunset, and the eerie lighting on the salt marshes that caught my attention. The red boat stood out, yet blended with it's surroundings. It was the perfect scene for a painting!
I hope that you will enjoy the atmosphere of this painting as much as I did trying to capture it.
