Wish You Were Here began with a piece of bumpy, red glass. It evolved into the first in a series of allegorical works to illustrate a children’s book currently in development. Beyond it’s most basic level, with the lonely angel fish as its focus, the piece represents the challenges we face as we travel the uncharted waters of our lives, often against the tide. A sculptural element added to the surface of the substrate enhances the movement of the under water setting and hides pieces of the menacing red fish, who represent our “unknowns”.
