Yesterday I walked round the garden, enjoying some winter sun. In a cold, weed-ridden corner, where traces of frost still lingered, I saw this leaf in the ditch. Bending down to look at it closely, I could see that it had shrivelled into hills and valleys, like a miniature landscape. The frost looked like snow on the high ground.
Lying on my belly in the cold, wet, grass, with my nose near the ground, smelling the earth and leaf mould, I coaxed this picture from my ancient, taped-together Fuji Finepix.
My neighbour waited until I got up to say "Good Morning"..
