Prospectus

Wherever you're from, there is something lurking nearby. It could be a bizarre and horrible monster. It could be a ghostly apparition or a mischeivious poltergiest. Or maybe the Moth Man (EBSQ's own local creep). Maybe it's a sasquatch. Perhaps it is even the devil himself. Urban legends and local folklore abound with the mysterious, the frightening, and the unexplained. "Local Creeps" is an opportunity to share these entities from where you live. Your local creep could be as well known as The New Jersey Devil or just the ghost of the tragic gym teacher that haunts the local high school's locker rooms. Whatever you choose, this should be a story local to you or to where you grew up. Yes, the thing in the woods behind the camp you went to every summer counts, too.

"Local Creeps" is open to all media. An artist's statement is required with every entry. This statement should include the story of your "Creep" and how it relates to you. It should also detail the materials, process and something about why you chose to represent your subject in the manner or media that you did. This increases understanding of your work and significantly enhances the experience for the viewer and in this case, makes it a lot more fun. As texture or other small elements may be pivotal to the piece, detail shots are encouraged. Eligible entries need to meet all points of the prospectus. If you have any questions regarding the prospectus and its requirements, please send them to edu@ebsqart.com.
