My son-in-law has been sharing some of his photographs of his garden with me this year to use as painting references. He sent me one looking up through his pink echinacea coneflowers - the sun shining behind them through the blue sky. As soon as I saw it, this painting came to mind - turning the sky into the look of a cathedral window behind the dark shadowy petals. I had intended to get it done for this years Flower of the Month exhibit, but I got sick and didn't get it done in time to enter it. So here it is now, in the Better Late than Never exhibit!
