Gifted, an Olympic medal winner, shows intense concentration and a muscled and veined neck as he flexes his beautiful head. I used a photo reference in which he was in the middle of his dressage event so I removed his bridle. Gifted was my first color piece. I knew nothing about pastels or painting but used Q-tips, my fingers and my daughter's set of 12 pastels from her high school art class. I put this piece on a full sheet of Arches watercolor paper, #100. Working big has always been easier for me. This is the first piece I ever sold on eBay and Gifted went to an art dealer in Kentucky.
