This piece was modeled directly from the eye of my best friend, Raji. His eye holds kindness, wisdom, gentleness, and above all, love.

I spent countless hours at the barn, staring into Raji's soul, running my hand over his beautiful head. I knew that I had to recreate his eye so that I might have a little piece of him at home.

I first created the piece in clay, then made a mold. Hydrostone (plaster and crushed stone) was poured into the mold. After the hydrostone dried, I applied a multi-step patina consisting of shellac, oil paint, bronze power, pigment, and wax.

"Gentle Soul" is strung with wire for hanging, or can be displayed on an easel. Limited edition of 30.
