
This image was created with the Tiera-Zon fractal program and began as a basic Mandelbrot image (z=z*z+c;).
As I am very new to using this software, this fractal was the result of a great deal of experimentation. I just kept zooming in on various parts of the image that I found interesting while changing the colors and applying various filters until the fractal spoke to me and said, "I'm done".
I titled this fractal *Synapse* because that is the first word that came to mind as soon as it appeared on my screen. As a person living with bi-polar disorder, this image is, to me, like what I imagine the inner-workings of my brain look like when I am in a depressive state and my meds jump start the seratonin production up there. It's a beautiful thing...
