Art: INDIAN PIPE by Artist Theodora Demetriades
The Indian Pipe looks like it is some sort of fungi, but it is really a flower. These strange little flowers are parasites and live off the tree roots that they grow near. If you have ever seen them growing in a forest they will never be forgotten. There is just something so very mysterious about them.

Look ! white Indian pipes On the green mosses lie ! Who has been smoking Profanely so nigh? Rebuked by the preacher The mischief is stopped, But the sinners, in haste, Have their little pipes dropped. Let the wind, with the fragrance Of fern and black birch, Blow the smell of the smoking Clean out of the church! Clara Smith
