This is one of the first macro flowers I painted, and I chose the tulip because it is one of my favorite flowers. Thinking back on it now, I remember how new the process of painting was to me and how meditative it felt. I remember flipping through a picture atlas of flowers and thinking that I wanted to paint each and every one of them. I still do.
