This floral piece is created on a 16" X 16" X 3/4" stretched canvas with professional acrylic.
I throughly enjoyed creating this pansy piece for this months floral show!
The first layer of acrylic was applied via brush, however, the rest of the painting was created through the use of a palette knife.
I did not have a defined design, on paper nor in my mind, of how this painting would look finalized. I had originally thought I wished to paint the entire floral piece with brushes, however, as I began to fill my palette with the colors to create the form of the pansies I then knew I would be painting the petals with a palette knife instead, not a brush as intended. As I began painting with my knives, I was loving the textures, as I often do, so much I finished the entire painting in this fashion.
I hope you enjoy viewing all the textures as much as I enjoyed creating them!
