This is a very special painting I created for a friend who has been so supportive during my long illness. When I first met her over 15 years ago, she had just moved to the West Coast from Maine. Even now, her heart often yearns to be back in Maine. This is the church she went to as a teenager. With permission from the photographer, "Northern Maine Pictures", I painted this for her as a surprise gift. I'm including it in the November 2014 "Naked Trees" exhibit because I think it's a great example of how beautiful winter trees can be. NFS
