I created this hyperbolic tessellation mandala design with the intent of playing with an abstract version of a butterfly...in the end the design looks more like a bouquet of flowers. Normally I used color pencils as my medium of choice. For this one I decided to use a set of fine markers and opted to "color" it using light to intense scribbles. It gives it a more vibrant look as well as a bit of Victorian styling. It was fun to color.
