Here is our friend the Dandelion, whose name comes from French "Dent de Lion" (Lion's Tooth), probably because, at one stage of its development, this plant's bud does look like a fang...but that's just one of the many "looks" this gifted little impersonator takes on during its life. This is the same flower, in fact, that looks like a dusting implement at the end of its life, and whose seeds we blow onto someone's face when we want to be flirtaceous, or irreverent.
To think that we spend millions of dollars in laxatives every year and even more millions in herbicides, formulated to get rid of this poor little fellow, whose roots, dried or fresh, steeped in hot water or even simmered as a decoction, are one of the safest, most effective laxatives on earth! And it carries no possibility of developing a tolerance to it either, so we could drink it every day without ever becoming dependent on it!
