On a trip to Hawaii, I fell in love with the many orchids I saw in the Farmer's Markets. In Hawaii, orchids are a garden plant, but for most of us, an orchid is a beautiful houseplant! I know it's one of my favorite plants to grow indoors. I completed it on the last day of February - just in time to enter it into the 2014 Houseplants Exhibit!
This original watercolor painting is painted on Hot Press 300lb paper. It has such a wonderful smooth texture, and yet, I used several granulating paints to bring a sense of depth to the painting.
