Cherry trees like most fruit bearing trees are members of the Rose family. The scientific name is Rosaceae, the genius is prunus avium. The cherry tree is legendary throughout the world for its beautiful display of early spring blossoms and the delightful flavors of its abundant fruit. This is an English style botanical which has a painted border motif with a frame in a frame to allow for flowers and vegtables to surround the cherry tree. It has a Beatrice Potter feel to me and I half expect to see a rabbit hop into the frame at any time. It also makes me look forward to a fresh bowl of cherries this spring. Can't wait!
