Echinacea flowers are a favorite around our gardens! They have been blooming for weeks. Today when I went out to take a reference photo I was treated with a visit by a tiny hummingbird who tweeted as he buzzed around the flowers.
This is a first attempt to capture a few of our echinaceas for this exhibit. It was intended only as a reference sketch but I like the simplicity of the result. You may know that watercolor is a bit of a chancy medium and you do not know for sure what you will get. I decided to stop at this point before I ruin it.
