
An irridescent beetle stops to investigate the center of a Black-Eyed Susan (coneflower.) This American wildflower is found all over, but is nonetheless beautiful and cherished by all.
The painting is done in bright watercolor on paper, colors new gamboge, cadmium yellow, transparent Mars brown, phthalo green, sap green, quinacridone violet, ultramarine blue and a touch of irridescent jade paint on the beetle.
