I find Rex Begonias fascinating because the flowers are pretty much insignificant and it is the heavily textured leaves who are the stars of the show. Of course, here in So. Cal. they are indoor plants as they must be misted frequently due to water rationing in our desert climate. This piece is the culmination of lots of research and trips to a beautiful plant nursery which is just down the street and across the road from my studio. It started out with a pencil drawing in what is becoming my signature style of modern cubist. Then ink, watercolor pencils & watercolors, and finally metallic (can't resist metallic bling) inks, all on Strathmore watercolor paper. This item will be available on eBay.
