At the 2002 South African Eventing Championships, a new jump was introduced -- the Broken Bridge. As the name implies, a bridge with a gap. It looked completely terrifying. I set my Nikon F5 to continuous shooting at 8 frames per second and photographed my friend Cindy going over it on her horse, Dickens. Of the ten photos, I lovingly stitched together seven to create this panorama, depicting the speed, power and excitement of that single one second. I also deliberately varied the layering to create a "confusion" of multiple riders going over the bridge, adding to the excitement.
