This necklace consists of solid sterling silver wire in 24 gauge, with handcrafted oblong and triangle beads in sterling, round polished sterling beads, 4mm natural round garnet and rhodonite beads, 4MM Swarovski® Crystal bicones in Crystal and Rose and hematite cylinders, 4.45mm by 3.35mm.
All my jewelry pieces are autobiographical - this piece came about by chance when my teenage daughter was talking to me about "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End" while I was watching the tail end of my favorite Bond movie "Live and Let Die" and it just kind of all clicked! The roiling colors of the round Boro beads evoke a primitive fire as the hearts pulse with life and an earthy glow as they're accented by the simplicity of the triangular and oblong beads, semi-precious gems and Swarovski® crystals. The clasp is a twisted hook with soldered jump-ring closure and the links are connected by soldered jump rings.
This is a departure from my usual work as it is much more stark and shows a bit of my dark side, but I had GREAT fun putting it together! Props to 3 Muses Glass for the wonderful beads - I couldn't have done it without you!
