This is a ceramic portrait of my hero, who I feel had a hand in the development of this piece.
I have worked with clay before, but never in a way that required me to try and make something look realistic. I worked really hard on this one so that it at least resembled John Lennon. I was originally very worried about how the piece would look once it was glazed, because I wanted a solid tone. Funnily enough, the reddish glaze did something totally unpredictable and made it the piece look metallic, of which I was completely happy.
Awards/Recognitions:This piece was juried into the 2005 Student Art Show at Haas Gallery, Bloomsburg University, PA.
