Childhood... you got to love it but don't appreciate it until you don't have it anymore. This piece is 10 x 15 on black matt board. I drew each piece on paper with pen and ink and filled them in with marker. The piece of paper at the top is a drawing of the yellow lined paper we all must have used for making our letters correct in school this is done in acrylic paint and marker. In the tip left you will see the typical child drawing of a person I used draw all over walls when I was young (sorry mom) I guess you can see this is where my love for graffiti art all started. Which is why I also added the pencil, marker, crayon and paint brush because as a kid I loved to draw that's pretty much all I did if I was inside for the day. This was done on sticker paper and applied to the matt board because what kid didn't like stickers and putting them everywhere. There is also bubbles made from pen, ink and marker on paper and then cut out. I think we all had our share of blowing bubbles back in the day. Then of course you had the Nintendo Gameboy that came out which my brother and I would play for hours but of course then the screens had no color and they were actually really hard to see which the game most played was Tetris because it came with it. Then i decided to draw my brother with his freckles he hated and his hair sticking up everywhere because then you just didn't care. I know one thing that made him happy as well as it did me was when someone gave you candy you would bounce off the walls before you even got it in your mouth. So I made him with a cupcake, candy necklace and a ring pop. I think the most appropriate thing for this show was to use materials I would have been allowed to use as a child and as you grow you experience new things to create with as you do in life with anything. Things that may of made you happy then might not make you happy now but to think back at the memories makes me feel happy and its good to know at one time the small things could make you so happy and stress free.
