I've always loved the warm and cozy feeling that country art offers! This show is the perfect opportunity to further experiment with country farm animals..namely chickens!.
About this piece
This paticular chicken is a smart cookie!. (And some honestly are!) She found a little opening through the fence around the chicken coop and since then has been seen at the same time, every day taking a daring stroll past the other chickens!! I wonder where she 'd go if she wasn't caught each day??!!How it was created
This piece was created entirely in PhotoImpact XL. Not many people realize just how fun and powerful PI is along with Photoshop!. The backgrounds were created first on 3 seperate fresh canvas. Using a slight canvas texture to give it warmth . The chicken themselves were all created by drawing freehand with a mouse. I didn't want the chicken to be "perfect" with lines and curves, but instead allow completely my imagination to tell me what "this" paticular chicken should look like. Using tools such as paint brush, airbrush and various textures , as well as "burning" and " Dodging" offer some small highlights, while adding to the over all country theme. To obtain a wooden fence appearance, I started with a plain old brown color and burned and dodged over and over again to make it look "old and farmish"!.By commenting, you agree to our Community Guidelines.
