I created "Red Bowl" as my first water color entry at EBSQ.I love flowers and orchids and it was a natural fit to fill a bowl with flowers. I frst used water color pencil on canvas, and then decided to go over my design with water colour paints for a darker, richer effect. The thick outlining effects are achieved by applying thick outlines to the flowers where I wanted them, and then going back and painting in the flower colors. I also prefer full background color to help the image pop out from the painting. This water colour is created on a 12 x 16 canvas sheet, suitable to be placed inside a frame.
