I love bats. They are such useful cute little things. You see them out at night getting rid of all the mosquitos and other bugs. The only problem is, they show up sleeping in the most inconvenient places. Our outside light fixture, our closed patio umbrella, our wood pile. They never use their bat house. This is a "Little Brown Bat" native to my province of Saskatchewan. One of the things they like to do is skim over calm water looking for tasty bugs. I have used acrylics on 170 lb canvas paper for this painting. It showsthe bat gingerly avoiding the water as he gets his catch of the day...a worm.
