This is a painting of my Lilac English spot rabbit. He is painted with the best quality acrylics on a 9x12 inch Masters Touch fine art studio Museum Collection, medium textured, cotton duck, double primed, gallery wrapped, artist canvas. The edges are staple free. English spots are a very fun, and goofy breed of rabbit. They are bred mostly for show, and love to run. When being judged the rabbits are allowed to run up and down the show table so the judge can get a better look at their body type, color, and spots. They are known as one of the running breeds of the rabbit world. They are very intelligent, and are fun to keep as pets.
I tried to capture the personality of the breed, which is outgoing and curious. This is a night scene. Out of the 47 rabbit breeds, this one is the most likely to be into trouble and investigating anything out of the ordinary. in fact my guys favorite thing to do is get out of his cage (He's figured out how to work the latch on the door!) and wreak havoc in my barn by getting into things like the hay and straw. He is very friendly, easy to catch, and loves to be held.
The background is supposed to be pure black, with the stars and moon. It seems to have picked up a bit of the flash from the camera. Sides on this painting are painted over. So it will look nice hung up if not framed.
While I have bunnies, I must say that they are not for everyone. If you are considering buying a rabbit I would suggest hooking up with a good rabbit breeder, or reputable rabbit rescue. Attend a few rabbit shows, and do a lot of research on them before purchasing, or adopting one.
