I love to photograph children with their pets. I want my images to tell stories, and I remember how important my pets were to me as a child.

This was photographed with a 3mp Fuji Finepix S602. It's a great camera, aside from the 3mp limitation.

I confess this originally was a color image, but it insisted on becoming black & white. And when an image feels that strongly, I usually let it have its way. In this case, the young man has red hair which dominated the rat and pulled the eye away from the connection between the two.
