In all cultures there are special holidays and to celebrate them we have gatherings and delicious meals. In my wiccan faith we have many "little celebrations like this, they are to mark the changing seasons, or different moon phases. These celebrations are an intimate offerring of wine and fruit , we enjoy some of it and put whats left back into the earth for the goddess. So in this painting I am showing some yummy red wine in my own ritual glass and I wanted to display the apple cut open baring the seed of life within to represent the constant cirle of creation, from seed to life, back to the earth to one day bloom again. I love these "little rituals" they make feel happy, peaceful and at one with everything around me. It is a wonderful way to be thankful for what you have.
