Art: Union Soldier Holding Flag by Artist Jane LeBlanc, Langlois Studios
My husband is a Civil War reenacter (as well as Revolutionary and French & Indian) and at times I go along with him to some of the events. We were in Gettysburg, VA, the scene of the most talked about battle of the Civil War, and I was all dressed up and on the sidelines of the mock-battle when I took a photo of this soldier on horseback (I hid my camera in the pocket of my 1860's dress). It was a fabulous picture of him holding a flag and I knew it would make a great drawing. The folds in the billowing fabric of the flag are what attracted me to draw this image.

I'm an artist, and among many things, I draw portraits for commission. This graphite (pencil) drawing was done just for the fun of it. It was drawn on Stonehenge paper and was rendered from a photograph taken with a digital camera. I've had it hanging in my home, but being that my husband and I are both artists, art on our walls changes frequently. Instead of putting this drawing away somewhere in a closet, I'd like to see someone else enjoy it.

The size, including frame is 9 1/4 x 9 1/4 inches.

The matt opening showing the drawing is 5 x 5 inches.

This framed drawing is up for auction on eBay.
