This piece illustrates part of 'The Lion and the Mouse', one of Aesop's Fables. The lion, exhausted after a long day of hunting, lay sleeping. A mouse, scrambling over the lion while he slept, awoke him. As you can imagine, the lion was far from pleased at being disturbed by the little mouse.
